I am actually on the exact laptop you are talking about. I love my Acer Aspire. But no, I wouldn't keep Win7 installed. It runs exactly like you are saying, slow as crap. WindowsXP it is very fast.

lol. It's amazing how both of these problems were non-existent by the time of release.

@salasrcp90 Netbooks were made for people who already have a desktop or larger laptop but need a smaller, more basic laptop with great battery life for on the go and don't want to buy an expensive CULV laptop.

yea i guess nowadays net books are really popular and the specs have gone up, and like you said they are very affordable. And no, it wouldn't be a bad idea to purchase one if you travel a lot, go on vacation a lot, or even if your a student. the fit nicely in a purse or tote, but i still don't think many people are going to resort to a net book over a standard machine, they are useful for going camping, or hiking, id rather have a 350 dollar net book fall into a ravine than my 2000 dollar mac.

Dragonballjiujitsu - can we talk on Skype sometime? got some basic PC questions for you for advice. Thanks.
i personaly wouldn't purchase a netbook just for the fact that i have no use for one, i would rather buy a nice 14 inch or 16 inch laptop with all the functionality of a desktop and still have a nice portable workstation. i don't see how anyone would purchase a netbook other than the fact that its really small and cute.

Small , cute , and very cheap. Most good netbooks going for under $500. The Dell mini 9 I got my wife was $230 and has better specs than a top of line desktop system of just a few years ago.

I still dont understand why people think vista is so terrible. I find it more reliable than xp ever was and much more visually pleasing. Sure when it was released it sucked, but it's fine now.

Visually pleasing yes. But unstable as hell. No where close to as reliable as XP. When its was released it sucked and it still sucks, just a little less.
