What kind of structures are required to enable freedom of thought and equality of possibilities?

This is just a short clip from http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVTWCPoUt8w

Posted because of its relevance to Finnish / European university politics.

  • I'd like to see more video of this event. Anyone got links?

  • @aksh16 There's a link to the whole thing in the description. This is just a small bit I cut out of that because of its relevance to a discussion.

  • fking liberals, the actual system works well, there is no need to change it

  • @AcmeSeller There is always change and room for improvement. One problem in our current system is that the amount of money the state pays to students as a direct benefit has not been linked to an index to automatically adjust for inflation and has thus fallen behind from the levels it was when Linus was still studying. There are hopes of fixing this under the current administration.

  • I want to live in Finland

  • @juan1974mendez yep, yankees, bhah!

  • @ONNIHOLTTA some americans think with such features you belong in a communist state. most of those conservatives are very retarded like @AcmeSeller, and look for ways to encourage people to continue paying large amounts of money for school and leave a degree with high fees. they lookout for the elite to remain on top. the US has the syndromes of a third world country. but they are too proud to accept their faults.

  • @AcmeSeller we need engineers, architects, and other technical profressionals we are falling behind. you can be as more as a conservative as you want, but the fact is tuition tripled in 10 years i left college. where is there an inspiration to focus on studying while people have to work hard to pay for their own tuition and leave after with debts. i come from a third world country which has free education, isn't it scary there is no such thing here for Americans?

  • @jaakkome Thanks, can't believe I missed that link

  • Torvalds is the MAN!!
