Truck Driver Training Program at Bevill State Community College

The Truck Driver Training Program became a part of the curriculum at Bevill State Community College during the spring of 1967 and over time has evolved into one of the most popular programs offered at the College. With the cooperation of the State Board of Education and the Alabama Truck Driving Association, Bevill State has been able to provide a much needed service to the rapidly expanding trucking industry. In 1990, the College became a third-party testing site for Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Testing. The Bevill State Community College's Truck Driver Training Program is located on the Sumiton Campus.

Industry experts agree that Bevill State's Truck Driver Training Program is one of the most comprehensive in the nation. Also, labor statistics indicate the demand for trained truck drivers will continue to grow rapidly. In the years ahead, tens of thousands of additional truck driving jobs will be created.
