  • Steber and Bjorling are super stars. What a pair." FANTASTICA" intrepretation of "Miserere" Il Trovatore. Born to sing together. As always original, unique and fantastic. Love them and thank you for sharing this video clip.

  • I knew Miss Steber. Actually was in her living room the night we first landed on the Moon! She was such a great lady...and an even greater singer and teacher. She really knew her voice and technique like few singers ever did. Her voice was so warm and beautiful, and she could sing anything with great sound, nobility and the kind of authority which is totally lacking today.

  • Would you believe that I remember hearing this broadcast!! Monday nights~~~~what a delight. She was and IS the best. Loved her!

  • The sound is not the best, but, it's just heaven!

  • Steber sang the last refrain with the added higher note the way Frances Alda did it with Caruso. Very beautiful.

  • Magnificent.TY Onegin65 for posting.

  • I have always loved the tender , moving sound of Bjorling- just a touch of sadness in the voice. Steber was one of the greatest sopranos of all time - better in Mozart , Puccini and above all French roles. Her Berlioz 'Nuits d'ete' with Mitropoulos is finer than Crespin's in many ways and that is a great compliment. How happy were those who heard these great artists live.

  • I have a Bjorling autograph. I bought it on a whim some years back before the signature became astronomical in price. (and before I realized this man was who he is now) The only thing that sucks is I cannot/willnot ever sell it.

  • Who is the conductor???
