@matthewbrown7436 Another reason for orchestras' reluctance to program the "Florida Suite" is the fact that it wasn't performed for 50 years after a private concert in 1888(with Edvard Greig in attendance); it wasn't published until 1962, at least according to Wikipedia. If that's the case, not much of an opportunity to become part of the repertoire under those circumstances.

Delius wrote this suite when he was 25.
(I'd prefer not to recall what I did at 25.)

@matthewbrown7436 you ask a very important question. orchestras are 'fear factor' these days--they are frightened to program anything but Beetoven,Mozart.

music of shear buty...how amazing...why isnt he played more often by the major orchestras...perhaps a composer who will help the shutting down of major orchestras in this country...just beautiful music

This is amazing music. Delius is an amazing composer who unfortunately is underated and underplayed.
Could you please add which orchestra is playing under which conductor? Thx
