This movie was made for Ms. Bibb's government class. The research project was done at the end of the six weeks on a basically self-chosen random topic. So, this is the movie we--Taylor Miller, Brendan McCormick, and Karl Speer--made.
To clarify, this movie is NOT a joke. That was never our intent. Yes, we included humor in the movie, but we were trying to appeal to a class of high school students. We wanted to also stay true to the facts that we shared, as well as the great strides that the Kurds in northern Iraq have made. To those who are offended by those uses of humor, I am truly, honestly sorry. We do know that there have been horrible atrocities committed against the Kurds, but that is not their entire history; they have also achieved wondrous advancements in peace and democracy in spite of the surrounding chaos and war that engulfs the middle east. We wishes to share both good and bad--but not so as to gloss over and omit what barbaric crimes were committed against them by Saddam Hussein and others like him.
No, we do not believe we have done a horrible thing. For those who only see it as such, we are sorry.
