Sibling Team of MIT Engineers Blend Culinary Art and Science To Win Food Network's Cupcake Wars! The Sweet Lobby owner Winnette McIntosh Ambrose and brother Timothy McIntosh, appeared on the Food Network's Cupcake Wars, Sunday, February 5, 2012. The sibling team, originally from Trinidad, put their Massachusetts Institute of Technology degrees to the test to win the $10,000 prize. "I think our engineering background uniquely influences our approach to baking," said McIntosh Ambrose. "We leveraged creativity, a global perspective and an understanding of scientific principles to gain a tasteful advantage." The winning, Chinese New Year inspired cupcakes --Fresh Ginger Five Spice, Fire-Breathing Chocolate Dragon, Sesame Chestnut Mountain and Green Tea Jade Lantern --will be available throughout the month of February at The Sweet Lobby, located at 404 8th Street SE, in Capitol Hill's Barracks Row.
