@arianCF10I I disagree,I think it was a provocative portrayal of the mindset of someone who is suicidal, and a great segway(spell check?) into the topic of Human behavior and his existential point of view.To truly understand it,cope with it,and be happy is to detach yourself completely.Which isn't popular idealism,I know...but it worked for George and its working for me.If you can make a difference,my heart goes out to you,but I have no stake in the outcome.Neither do most.

Hemingway committed suicide...and so did Sylvia Plath...and Virginia Woolf!
Hemingway went out like a man, not a pistol, no--SHOTGUN, straight to the head!
And Plath, SHE was a considerate one...made her kids a snack just before she stuck her head in the oven!
And Woolf, well...she went for the classic...anyone ever read "Hamlet," know Ophelia's end?
Yep--DROWNED HERSELF, now THERE'S an option George didn't even consider!
See, George, literary figures can off themselves, too! ;) RIP All.

George Carlin couldn't have been more mistaken. His so-called "insight" into suicide is myopic and false, and his satirization of the act makes him appear even more ignorant

@arianCF10I Well don't you just love opinions that are not backed up by arguments? I find them fascinating.

@uskro Beautiful, I love YouTube arguments. I for one feel that perhaps George Carlin needed to justify his position better with actual arguments instead of dully dismissing suicide using his obtuse satirical examples and myopic views as to the rightness or falsity of the act. There have been various argumentations made in support of the act of suicide, one notable coming from Schopenhauer. It's on YT check it out and you'll see why suicide is not all that Carlin makes it up to be.

@arianCF10I He's so called insight is actually called observational stand-up. It's taking reality to an extreme or creating such a situation that the topic becomes amusing. It's not philosophical. Don't take yourself too seriously. As for the true meanings of suicide, and for the video, I had several discussions, just click all comments and the Ctrl + F uskro. If there's anything I left out, I much apologize. And his statistics were correct, by the way.
