@TheSancretor Don't you think a former Shu gneral would like to praise Zhuge Liang more? Instead he praised Zhou Yu and Huang Gai. Almost all histories accept that Zhuge Liang's contributions were strictly fictional. If you want to learn more, research some archives on a site called the Scholars of Shen Zhou. It has some good histories on Zhuge Liang. He was a great man, but he was not the reason Chi Bi was won.
@TheAlkio I speak from history, not from the novel. Chen Shou was a Shu officer and general who was ordered by the dominant Jin dynasty in writing a history of the era. He searched through archives of court histories in Wei, and in Wu, and as he was from Shu, researched their as well. His final work was called the "Record of the Three Kingdoms" The novel was based on this historical work. In this book, Zhuge Liang is mentioned to not have been involved with Chi Bi.
@TheSancretor umm wow lol? dude ur basically proving my point? ur saying Oh this is historical and that is not, so you failed in your comments? i mean you said it didnt happened but you have no evidence to support what u said happend historically? "we can only assume from what we read and study"??? bro this is the fucking story of the novel. and over my last comments i've benn trying to prove to you that the novel was 70% true 30% fake. lol im mind fucked right now... :/
@TheAlkio Also it's inaccurate. Stop spamming idiot.
No one knows for sure what happened so long ago, or even what happened during famous events a few decades ago. We can only assume from what we read and study.
@TheAlkio Zhuge Liang was the head of the Shu detachment, but considering that few men of Shu served and that mostly Wu fighters fought, and that Chen Shou did not record Zhuge Liang sitting in on Zhou Yu's meetings, we can assume that they had little to do with each other. Also, my point is is that the novel does not accurately portray Zhou. Zhuge Liang is an amazing man, a strategist, a fairly talented general and an inventor, but he was not super man.
@iamgiovani3 Actually it was more to tell the story of the novel, Luo guanzhong had no intention of showing how smart Zhuge Liang was, i mean if he wanted to show the greatness of someone he could've chose someone else, and say even if he was jealous use ur pea-nut cranium and assume why'd he been jealous of Zhuge Liang for? Because he was extreme wise Of Course lol...
@xDAZZE You do know that Zhuge Liang did not predict the weather, right? Maybe in the novel, but not historically. Zhuge Liang and Zhou Yu did not interact much during the Chi Bi and Nanjun campaign.
@TheSancretor That's not necessarily true. Zhou Yu was not a master of meteorology as Zhuge Liang. Just by Zhou Yu himself, Wu wouldn't have the wits to beat Cao Cao's massive army.
@iamgiovani3 Zhou Yu was indeed a kind, humble and patient man with great talents. Zhuge Liang did nothing at Chi Bi. Huang Gai and Zhou Yu did it all.
Zhou Yu died because of illness when he was returning to Jiang Dong after he took down Jiang Ling,(City of Jing province). Zhou Yu was portrayed as evil and small-minded to show the greatness of Zhuge Liang. He never had any rivalry with Zhuge Liang in real history. Why would he be jealous of Zhuge Liang when he was handsome, clever, talented in music, had a beautiful wife(xiao qiao), high rank. F*** YOU LUO GUANZHONG!!
