As other people already wrote, Type-90 is based on Leopard 2, not Abrams.

Tanks are not amphibous. They submerge to cross river, and only when they have snorkel aparatus. M1 Abrams doesn't have the snorkel aparatus developed for the particular gas engine it uses, and it cannot ford rivers deeper than 1.6-.1.8 meters.
