THUMBS UP IF FAMILY GUY BROUGHT YOU HERE

you were 17 when you did this..... wow for some reason that's hard to picture a 17 year old but nice.
-
My major issue here has to be your Irish vowels! Really great singing especially considering you had no training at that point. Maybe you could post another one of yourself now?
-
Damn nice rendition, and I've heard hundreds of them.

This doesn't add anything to the brilliant original by Paul Robeson; just an imitation that lacks the emotions of Robeson's song. Kennedy is clearly talented: he should find a song that he can add something to.

Great for someone with no training! Wow!
-
Really untrained! :-)) Learn to singing first, then recording! You singing straight voice without vibrato. High notes like a cry. Find a good teacher!

A rather rousing and heartfelt performance!
Very good job. Do you participate in any sort of choir group? I know that you mentioned that your voice is untrained, but I'm just taking that as meaning you haven't had any sort of voice lessons. I'm also a bass, also seventeen, and a very good singer, to toot my horn.

Lol, well for a start this video was put up about 3 and a half years ago, Im 21 now and have 3 years of voice training behind me so I've come a along way since then. lessons at the time! Im singing in about 3 different groups at the moment and have a few solo things going on. But just a piece of advice, if you really wanna improve, definitely go get some lessons, it's well worth it, once u have the raw materials there, learning the technique comes more easily!

thanks. appreciate it. ALthough funnily enough, in Robesons version, he actually pronounces it "jest", well the version I have anyway! ah well

I could sing much better than that. And deeper. I don't like this version of Old man river, because it signifies subservience, wherien Paul Robeson's version signifies struggle.

A fair remark, however each to their own. Paul Robesons version is unique in his own way and nobody could ever match that. However this version coming from an inexperienced untrained 17 year old has to be said to demonstrate potential, rather than honed technique and musicality. U are arrogant for a man nine years the elder. Dont just talk, prove yourself. A song like this isnt always about how deep it can be sung. Be under no illusions, I cud have sung it deeper if I wanted.
