@KillerCLbee He probably meant in the sense that it's stuff that you could completely skip and still get what's going on in the next arc. I'm not sure how relevant the whole arc is to the overarching plot yet. The only really important seems to be Guts struggling for control against his armor.

@kilobot6 - The manga isn't filler because it's all canon. Besides while they were sailing it was all about the new band of the hawk. That was what he wanted to do, but he couldn't just ignore Guts. That would make every fan mad.

@Baphomet600 thank you! join me in spreding the word that AI crap is not berserk music i like soft melodys as much as the next guy but that song dosnot belong in a berserk movie it feels as though it belongs in a highschool anime or somthing
I personally rate this as the greatest manga of all time. Every last chapter in the Golden Age arc is incredible. All but maybe two in the Black Swordsman arc are incredible as well. It only starts to get a little boring in the Hawk of the Millennium Arc, with a couple boring chapters. The current arc, the Fantasia Arc, has disappointed me. It is mostly filler I think, with little regard for the main plot as they are sailing. It still has its ups, and is still good, just not AS good.
