Sonata in A minor for Arpeggione and Piano, D. 821, by Franz Schubert (1797-1828). Schubert composed the work for the arpeggione, a now-defunct instrument with six strings and frets (like a guitar) that was bowed like a viola da gamba. Nowadays, the work is most commonly played on the cello, viola, flute, clarinet, etc
Claudio Barile and Fernando Pérez recorded in 1996
