I'm so glad you've discovered Stan Rogers. He's written some wonderful songs and this is one of my favorites.

Glad to see you are back. I always enjoy your performances, and this is one of your best. More than the others, you seem to be singing like you have something to say.
My suggestion: do this song sometime when you are really pissed off about something. It's best done with an attitude.

Yes. Your performance is like a different song from Stan Rogers's. Is it tempo? Tenor vs. baritone? I love his recording, but I love this, too. and seeing you able to do so many things--you've really grown since your recording was one of the few hits I found on YouTube for Eric Andersen. So has YouTube, I guess. Thanks so much. This is like a birthday present on my birthday! Whether from you or from YouTube....

I think it's tempo, some. Stan Rogers' version, at least on the studio recording, has less drive than it does in the live recording, which should be close to the top of the 'related' tab. I think my performance more or less resembles the drive present in that type of recording of the song. I'm just disappointed I didn't have a twelve-string and banjo to add to it!
