I much prefer this version to Kate's

I don't think this particular rendition was supposed to be anguished, mad or nearly as dark as the Kate Bush version, and I like it for that. She does it in her own way and does it justice.
I can see why people like Kate Bush but personally I didn't like her singing much.

@frogsrule378 Check out Pat Benatar if you haven't already. It isn't really that "rock-y",so to speak, but does have a bit of electric guitar in it.That's the first version I heard.I find something enjoyable in all three versions-Kate,Pat,and this version, which I just heard for the first time today.I agree tho that while it's very pretty,it is a bit lacking in passion. If you read Wuthering Heights you will find that it isn't a "pretty" story at all and truly warrants Kate's dark renditon.

Gotta read this book now.

best version ever, apart from Kate that is, hayley sounds so much better live, than most of her records, cant say that about most of the dross around nowadays.

i am reading the book ,ive read till the part young cathy and liton fall in love(catherines daughter)
but now i understood the lyrics....cathy wanted to say this all along ,,,even after she got marred to linton and her ghost still haunts wuthering hieghts and will forever until she can say the chorous of this song to heatcliff!
now i get it .....................its soo sad cathy wanted to ,she had the perfect oppurtunity but hindley was the problem.. and now heatcliff is evil

Pitch-perfect rendition of this amazing Kate Bush song -- Hayley has an exquisite voice, and the video is well done (unlike Kate's videos, this one directly references Emily Brontë's book). However, it lacks the passion, anguish, and near-madness that comes across in Kate's version. Perhaps it's a personality thing; I'd like to hear Hayley record this again when she's a little older, more mature, and has perhaps acquired that "luminous darkness" which Kate always projects, Still, excellent!
Hayley doesn't sound like a muppet, It sounds pretty instead of sounding like something from Xanadu and her 'wuthering's don't sound either demonic or like she's a frog. Therefore, I personally find Hayley is much better. She also doesn't come to me in my nightmares.
