  • i saw this movie in cuba in the 70, s i still love it, denueves performance was brilliant.... love her....

  • This movie was originally be filmed and set in Mexico with Silvia Pinal (Viridiana) and Ernesto Alonso (Ensayo de un crimen) as protagonists. Deneuve's voice had to be dubbed for she did not master the language, such a pity!! It would have been a marvelous Mexican film, just like Nazarin, Simon del desierto, The Exterminanting Angel, or Viridiana and Los Olvidados, both of Mexican origin.

  • Uprated, favorited and shared. A real high point for Bunuel and Deneuve -- I can't recall anything about THIS dark classic which did not greatly impress me.

I used to rent Bunuel films in 16mm and show them at Club 57 in NYC in the late '70s and early '80s. Always got enough audience to cover the rental fees, and got to see some great movies in a place with smoking and a cash bar. We'd come dressed for the movies, too, in theme. Very fun.

  • @Stravinski2 Have you seen the movie? It is one of the most accurate trailers ever! I've shared it with my taciturn French spouse, who adores this movie. He loves the frankness about her amputation, and all the risks Deneuve has taken in her career. There's no sexy fuzzy warm feeling possible with this one. No shoot 'em up. And it's way, way too accurate with regard to humans to be the slightest bit romantic.

  • Gracias :D Pero en la real pelicula , Caterine Deneuve hable en frances , no ?

  • What a pity. I bet the location would've been somewhere in Guanajuato.

  • jajaja q malo el trilerr

  • Catherine Deneuve and the guy who played the painter spoke French and Italian respectively, they were dubbed. Lola Gaos and Fernando Rey (Saturna and Don Lope) actually spoke Spanish, though, and those are their real voices. That may have been dubbed too, though, since that was a common practice in Spanish cinema of the time.

  • anyone know if this film was dubbed into Spanish, since I watched this today and their lips didn't seem synchronized (not to mention their voices don't sound like what they look like)

  • eh,I don't understand it."Tristana isn't a erotic film,Tristana isn´t a violent film,Tristana isn't a romantic film,Tristana is a film by Luis Buñuel"I think the trailer isn´t very good.
