  • 27.555 Is NOT In the CB band. It IS ILLEGAL To transmit above 27.405 thrugh 28.000. It is also ILLEGAL to use HAM radios to Transmit on the CB Band.

  • CB frequencies in the UK go up to 27.99125

  • amazing how so few know how to properly tune an SSB signal. when properly tuned voices sound perfectly normal, not mechanical.

  • you would have to adjust vfo for every over when not all on the same frequency.

I can tell what they are saying so why bother retuning for every over.

  • This is so funny, one says it is illegal to use non FCC type accepted equipment the other says it is a free band, haha. Try using an illegal frequency when you interfere with a govt, or commercial transmission, you will see the van pool at your location in short order, with handcuffs, jail cells, large fines, prosecutors, judges, and long prison sentences. See you in ten years sucker. Then tell us whats legal and free, Eh?

  • Ham 555 is because it's the most active ~ simple as. Radio folk [usually] like to talk, they gravitate to where the action is and that's the CB 11 meter band.

Funny thing is technically, the CB is outside the Ham licence, to follow strict protocol, Hams should not use 11 meters ~~ of course it's a free public band so they are not stopped from using it ~ just a technical point, it's actually outside their licence.

In any event, in Europe the bounds are breaking down with Hams and CB in real

  • Why is this titled Ham Radio 555 ?. Its CB 555. Which I thought was suppose to be the calling frequency on 27 MHz SSB CB. Who gives a toss.? not these two talking on the calling frequency. Legal or not it is a International agreement to use it to establish a QSO then QSY. But everyone to their own . I wonder if they moan when somebody starts using High power over sky wave to drown them out. ? on their calling frequency.

  • I have the same radio (lol)

  • ok i see Ham, Amateur what is the difference?

  • @rocknnmike Yeah, i don't mind saying that i have may of been naughty once, its a lot more bloody friendlier on 11 than other bands.

  • @Pugragger I agree. It gets me when these old guys that have been ON The Air forever like to police everybody else. What a miserable life they must lead. I can promise you that at sometime or another they have all crossed the line! Hypocracy at its best!!

  • @NDSI4BL It is not illegal to use HAM radios to transmit on the CB band. It is illegal to transmit at a higher rated wattage than what is legally allowed. As long as you are not exceeding the mandated 3.5 watt limit it is perfectly legal.

  • nice cb radio bud keep up the good work

  • Ever been to a pickle park?
