I used to watch this on TV early Saturday mornings. WCPO-TV in Cincinnati would run these serials at 7:30 in the morning. Don Winslow was the first one I recall seeing on TV, althougth they were still running Columbia serials at the theaters. The theme, "Anchors Aweigh," made you want to go out and enlist at the age of 11.
I watched as a kid on Detroit TV. I loved the runabouts the Nazis used, ducking into their "secret" hideout cave through a waterfall.

I went to school with Don's brother, Tom.
Sure, he was a wildcat, anyone could tell you that. But did anyone tell you why?
I didn't think so.... in the winter of '69 the family crossed the Donner Pass. nearly half of them starved, 2/3 were eaten by Pawnee.
the last remaining quarter crossed into the great salt lake velley under Jim Bridger's friend, Wild Bill Hickman.
they proceeded to build schools and churches for the women and the children.
bros dick and harry were killed by Japs, see?
