@MrKingkong57 That's not lazy. That's smart. They are taking advantage of an easy ready to go nest site. The fact that they didn't have to build much of anything means that all the more time could be devoted to raising and feeding chicks. Like if you had a ready made house you didn't have to buy and spend money on, wouldn't you take advantage? Sure you would. All that money saved could be banked or used to get a lot of 'cool stuff'.

Sweet, gentle, affectionate lil' featherheads. And, if silence had a sound, it would be a Mourning Dove cooing. BTW, learn to spell you moron! The word you're looking for is "They're" a contraction of 'They are'. The fact that you did it twice tells me it's not a typo. You're just an illiterate waste of oxygen!

very cute, doves have a very gentle personality. in Hawai'i we dont have mourning doves and in Tulsa we dont have turtle doves and the large American doves. good post.

I've actually found my local doves to be extremely lazy and they love man-made platforms. When I put out a nest platform in my tree, a pair jumped at the opportunity, threw in about 5 sticks, called it a nest, and laid 3 successful clutches of eggs over the course of the year.
