You are mistaking two movies.. He did that in 'The Pursuit of Happiness' Not in 'Seven pounds'. I have both DVD's so I can assure you of that fact.
And that clip aired before seven pounds was released. (is from 2 years ago already the clip: upload itself the actually clip probably even sooner)

stop hating...He was accepted to MIT and chose Hollywood instead.

it was a very easy cube set up, the first 3/4 of the cube was already done after 2 turns or so.

having said that, the hardest part is the final part, and he knew the algorithms for that part, so Will did know what he was doing. They simply cut out the start bit to stop him looking too slow.

@clovershoney I learned by using a solution online - difference is, i actually learned how to do it properly. Even as far as someone else's methods go he is cheating by being too lazy to learn that ! Check some vids of people solving it from scratch and then the number of moves Smith needs to do to finish it. It's all been done for him already, that's why he's a liar :)
