they probably only wanted to audition her..get her to pull the train..drain their tools..and they hire sammy anyways...like true rockers would do...
women belong in the bedroom and kitchen not in VH...

PS// Thank God for VH & Montrose, who revived Rock from the Disco craze and then kept Rock alive when New Wave hit the scene in 78/79. Disco was some fun bit of dancing & the chicks loved it ... but you Gotta R O C K !! ... next we get saved by Grunge! Rock N Roll never dies ... so what's next?! Just keep it coming~! (Avenged Sevenfold ?)

Fantastic cover, both on guitar! Eddie said it freed for keyboards since "Sammy's an axeman". But when asked about making a two guitar band said, "I can usually make enough noise by myself" LOL) But I love this double lead! Eddies right, it a rare song like this one that really makes it work. Sammy was a natural fit for VH, being from Montrose in 78. The biggest splash albums then were VH, Montrose, Cars & Blonde. But the first two were the big Rock debuts, with similar sound & awesome guitars.

THIS IS COOL!!! Van Halen doing "There's Only One Way To Rock"! What a way to kick off a Van Halen Concert in "New Halen"! I saw this on VHS tape back in '87.
THIS ROCKS!!!

Fuck it's great to see Ed happy and the boys when they were kickin' ass.

Van Halen is probably the only guitarist who is truly one with his guitar, I mean, he built it himself, so it's like a 3rd arm to him.
Amazing.
Can some tell me how much booze or Drugs these guys where on when they wanted Patty Smyth to originally replace David Lee Roth. Wtf guys where you thinking. Just think had it happen folks instead of this video we could have seen Van Halen performing the Warrior with Patty yeah now that would have Rocked Not..

@RGpranin I can't imagine what that would have been like. I have huge respect for Patty, but I don't see how it would have worked. It would have been such a huge departure from what VH fans wanted and expected in that band that I think it may have doomed them. As great as she is.
