This is a vlog for my blog at http://www.joshrimer.com/attention-online and today I'm talking about whether or not you should consider doing wild, crazy, dangerous stunts to get yourself exposure online because I heard people saying, "I think what I should do something wild and crazy and death-defying and against the law because that will get me noticed." Well personally, I don't think it's a good way to go about it. Yes, it could get you some attention on a certain video but it doesn't usually lead to having regular followers who want to follow what you're doing. It can be really hard to sustain that- well, to sustain an audience and to sustain your life, to not lose any arms, limbs or have terrible injuries which you really have to wonder- like you have to ask yourself: "Is it worth it? Is it worth the potential of losing an eye or being scarred for life to get some views on a video?" I really don't think it is. I know there's an audience out there for that kind of stuff and that's why movies like Jackass or Jackass 3D are popular right now, but despite the fact that I really can't stand those movies - I find nothing entertaining about people getting hurt - I just don't think it's a good idea for you to try to do to get more exposure online. I don't think it would be something that you'd have a lot of success with other than the odd video here and there; I don't think it's something you could create a following with; and I just don't think it's smart, witty, unique, good kind of entertainment that you should be considering. That's my thoughts on the subject. I think it's a lot better to do something creative, and clever, and that won't put you in jail, or make you lose a limb.
So try to come up with something unique and individual to you that's going to get people's attention, that's going to get them to watch and share your videos that isn't going to put you in harm's way!
@JoshRimer Oh yea I got it on video! I've never been Fragged before, and in the same video, my camera tripod and I both were fragged!

@MrSKSkill well, if you got it on camera, then ya... that's the kind of stuff that made America's Funniest Video a top show. :-D

"I think what I should do something wild and crazy and death-defying and against the law because that will get me noticed." Does accidents count? I got fragged by my AK-47

On the other hand, their youtube video would be a great piece of evidence when they are arrested for doing something stupid and illegal. (Why aren't people arrested for blatant stupidity?? vlog idea for another day.)
