Maurice Lacroix Bering Strait Expedition 2010 - Trailer

The Maurice Lacroix Bering Strait Expedition will begin in July 2010 with the motto of "Follow Your Convictions". The goal of the expedition is to cross the Bering Strait from Alaska to Russia on a kiteboard, setting three world records in the process:

➊The first crossing of the Bering Strait by kiteboard.
➋The first crossing from America to Asia by kiteboard.
➌The first crossing of the International Date Line by kiteboard.

this is so cool- can people just kiteboard recreationally or does it take a lot of training before being able to do it?

@chanferrs Hi chanferrs, kiteboarding is a recreational sport. That said, it is definitely advisable to take up kiteboarding classes before doing it on your own. You can also rent the equipment from them.

@JoacSheryl77 Hi there, the straits is 62 miles apart, and it takes 6-8 hours to travel by kiteboard through its wild waters with temperatures in the 2-3°C range!
