This is a raw behind the scenes look with students learning for the first time the Center Axis Relock firearms system.

This is a simple drill that they are shooting with the primary shooting hand and the reactionary eye while moving. Meaning right hand (for right handed individuals) and left eye while moving backwards. It's a fundamental element of the Center Axis Relock (C.A.R.) program and this shows them it does work and that accuracy is possible while they have both eyes open and they can see more of their surrounds.

At the end Paul Castle demonstrates a highly proficient way of shooting and moving while engaging multiple targets quickly. Paul Castle developed the Center Axis Relock (C.A.R.) system as a gun fighting system and not a stance or static shooting position.

If you have questions or would like more info on the Center Axis Relock firearms program please drop us a line. We provide customized or certification programs for firearms, self defense, explosive entry, and much more. We are always seeking host agencies and have a mobile training team available. You can also check out our scheduled courses page on the website for regularly scheduled open enrollment courses -- you can enroll and secure a class seat right from the website. Hope to see you soon!

  • Paul used a old standard Glock 17 I believe. Its first or second generation. It truly demonstrates the speed and accuracy of what C.A.R. can be when fully embraced - course he developed it.

  • The gun is slightly sideways because it’s in line with the natural position of the bones in the arm making it easier to control recoil and therefore a strong more controllable way to shoot. It’s not a "gangster" move or that far sideways - it’s a naturally stronger position. If you push out a fist away from your body straight in front of you, you will notice your thumb is slightly canted sideways - that is the same cant of the gun and a naturally stronger position.
