In Japan Mazda did not allow the sales of FCs without a turbo. In the US the N/A cars were sold because of MPG and insurance. In the US the 13Bt was introduced in the Turbo II models in 1987.

The 12A Turbos were sold in the Cosmos from 1982 - 1989, in the Luce from 1982 - 1985, and in the SA/FB RX-7s in 1984 and 1985.

The FC had a shift light that was used for economical driving, it would light up a light that says 'shift up' at around 3k rpms or so usually. No light near redline though, only the stock red line buzzer.

it's a shift light with a beeper I wonder if you can hear it outside the car like in this vid or is there a mic in the car
