  • you can follow the "flailing" connected to the valve--not necessarily true with vegetation. Another feature is the "flailing tubular feature" of the ruptured papilary muscle. Hyperechogenicity of vegetation is to also to be expected compared to a more hypoechoic muscle.

  • Very impressive did the person live?

  • look to see if it is the same texture/pattern as the myocardium. Vegetations typically have a brighter looking coloring from my experience.
