  • @tumble4jc why write ew...? there was no point. they tumbled once a week for an hour... Gymnasts tumble between 4-6hrs a week with a total of 12-16 a week total training. There really is no comparison. They were working hard and were pretty good considering the little amount of time training.

  • Not true, the one student is actually doing a modified whip. Layouts are in a hollowbody in true form, not a bridge and definitely not with ur head down. I work with cheer students daily and i think when the term cheer tumbling is used it is actually referred to lose, sloppy or otherwise other than clean (high and tight) tumbling. I see it daily. its sad to say, but there are many students that r instructed improperly and that has NEVER happened in a gymnastic setting/team.

  • Kent, as a coach u need to ensure ur students are learning correctly! Cheer Leading is now an Official Olympic sport (Cheer Gymnastics) and college recruiters are only gonna look at girls that can tumble clean to maximize there teams potential overall scoring when tumbling. We r talking about a potential full scholarship. Don't deprive them of that! Part of being a coach is telling them and the student, they r not ready and explaining why. Safety and proper form first! Director/Head Coach

  • She needs to focus more on cleaning up her lesser skills before moving on to a more difficult skill. When setting into her full, she needs to be looking at her toes or spotting the wall in front of her staying in her hollow body. Girls, u did a great job for such little time, but don't sacrifice form for skill if u r truly serious about using what u have learned for a scholarship or as a profession...

  • Nice who wants to see me do a Full :)

  • the girl in the blue shirt goes off to the side in her roundoff

  • @Cheer96xoxo There is no different in technique when throwing the same skills or pass. I just hate that cheerleaders are not willing to invest the time in learning a skill correctly and with proper technique. Doesn't matter how it's judged, good tumbling is good tumbling. (ps i'm a collegiate cheerleader and gymnastics coach)

  • Your tumbling is real neat and your layouts are so good! (:

  • @tumble4jc Theres nothing wrong with cheer tumbling. I've done both gymnastics and now cheer, theres no WRONG or RIGHT way. They're just different techniques. Gymnastics tumbling is often neater because that's a part of what it's judged on, Cheer judges don't give or take marks on neatness.

  • whats wong with cheer tumbling!??
