In this song I use a single fast triplet right foot pattern with left foot accents to get that heavy double bass attack sound.
This is one of the new rock tracks that I recorded with my Pro-Tools set up. I recorded this with a good friend of mine Jeff Hoard. He was Rick Springfield guitar tech for the show EFX that was at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Jeff did all the guitar work and bass parts.
This was a last minute idea to video record the studio take as I was laying it down.
We worked on this song on a Saturday afternoon around 1pm. After writing it and arranging it, I was recording the drums by 3pm.
There will be vocals on this track. Just wanted to share this new drum part to the new CD.

  • Beyond awesome! Sound and mix was extra sweet. And your performance was first class! I like the the split screen of the foot work, i think the viewers/drummers want to see the kick pedal.

That looks like a TD-20 flagship module, but the cymbal pads look like there from the older TD-10 kit. What does that kit sound like live?

  • Thanks buddy for the comment!

You are right,TD20 with some older TD 10 pads.

The v-drums live sound really good when you have a PA system that sounds really good for digital drums too.

I'm about 6 songs into the CD and should have recorded all the takes to of the other songs. I just happen to set these 2 cameras up at the last minute.

Hope everything is going great bud!

    Talk to you soon,

    Kevin Tutaj
