What they actually mean is that life cannot become more complex because as time progresses entropy increases (chaos accumulates) and a system deteriorates therefore no net increase in complexity can exist. The energy IN cannot exceed energy OUT. However, they forget that the sun provides energy and thus for us to become complex the energy decreases from the sun.

This is actually a strong argument until you remind them of the sun.

why do people who believe in science homosexuals? So do people who believe in gravity or germ theory also so homosexual?
