Schmitt served as a Republican to the United States Senate representing New Mexico and was the ranking Republican member of the Science, Technology, and Space Subcommittee. Schmitt is an outspoken critic of the man-made global warming theory.

@foospecial i agree. Before man kind, there were no earth quakes and hurricanes. Our carbon made the weather act up. We need to stop making carbons or the world will end in a few years. The government wants whats good for everyone in the world, so they are only telling the truth.

What thousands of events? You mean the same geological events that have been going on for millions of years? That is not climate change...but then earths climate has been changing for Millions of years too!( i.e. ice age etc.)

What nonsense this is.

In 1950 there where 2.5 billion people on the planet, today there are 6.8 billion going to 7 billion in the next couple of years.

How can any thinking person not believe that an additional 4.5 billion people on the planet has an impact the earth and its interrelated systems and all in just the last 60 years?

What makes Harrison Schmitt an expert on this matter? That he is a geologist?

Global climate change isn't bunk. If you have two eyes and a brain you can look up thousands of events around the world happening because of it. In any case, I don't doubt that governments and special interests are taking advantage of the situation. But that doesn't mean the situation isn't real.

I find it interesting that in Mr. Schmitt's recap of his career, he mentions everything EXCEPT being on the moon. (Which 'should' be the greatest achievement of any human to date!)

He even quotes the mission number (Apollo 17), as being the last 'mission', but fails to say, even once, his (so called) Lunar excursion.

It should be enough to cause anybody to at least "consider" what this implies!

I live inbetween two Military base's. I see fuel dumped in the sky,Military truck's that black smoke and all the car's and truck's the public drive. It's has gotten really bad when you walk outside in your yard and and you smell like you have been in a enclosed room Heliarc welding all day!

Still! We should'nt be taxed for it!
