"sulfuric acid isn't that dangerous"...... as a top comment? what do you work as, a window licker? (for the record, like many other have said, its dangerous, and will burn you, come on read the MSDS)

Sorry to be a pain but there is a lot of bad advise here. 18M H2SO4 is very strong and will fucking burn the crap out of your skin in multiple ways. Of course it won't kill you but that dosen't make it any safer. I've worked with it. Never minimize the risks of it.

@EnhanceTheTruth Not that dangerous? It is usually known to be potentially more dangerous than HCl. Not only is it highly caustic (corrosive) and can damage tissues such as skin, the violent exothermic reaction with water can also provide more skin/tissue damage. It will also decompose amides and esters easily (muscles and fat). It also depends of course on concentration. Never minimize the risks of dangerous chemicals.

18M means around -1.3 of pH ... I would never put that shit on my fingers, not even with gloves (I mean, not even a single drop)
But still it can be a very good/useful catalyst!

now drink it muthafucka !

So are doritos if you eat enough of em. This is high school chemistry relax people.

@lulzwhot The formal definition of 'caustic' is: "Able to burn or corrode organic tissue by chemical action." And it does not only apply to bases, even though it's mostly used in relation to NaOH or KOH.

I still find this video pointless, but interesting for the sake of chemistry. But 30% HCl can be found in any hardware store, and bought without any problems.

@iasedu Haha fair game, dont hear that every day.
Why bother making hydrochloric acid if you already have sulfuric acid?

Sulfuric acid isn't that dangerous. If you get it on your skin you can just wash it off quickly. It's caustic, not lethal. Chill out people.
