Automated recycling services by The City of Houston. The truck is a Condor chassis with a McNeilus body. The automated recycling program is in a trial run in Houston, and has so far been a large success.

  • Great job! So I'm guessing that the new Houston recycling trucks are green? When I passed through on I-10 a couple months back, I saw a ton of blue ASL's. Actually posted one on here that I saw on the interstate, not sure if you've seen it or not. This driver grabs really low on those carts... surprised the wheels aren't all broken.

  • Those Toter's are sturdy. And yeah, the blue ASL's are all garbage; Houston just started it's automated recycling program at the beginning of the year. They only have about 10 recycling ASL's right now. Everything else is collected on split-body recyclers or old rear loaders.

  • The participation rate for this community with the automated program has been hovering around 80%. Unheard of for Houston. And yes, it was a Zarn. You can find almost every type of cart around Houston. I've actually been surprised; they've been using the Toter EVR II for awhile now.

  • Do you think you will be able to catch the Peterbilt Heil Python in action? And jst this month they added 50,000 new homes to the program? I assume they needed new trucks for the job aswell? Or do they have enough to collect the new program area aswell as they previous recycling area?

  • Nice work, definite 5 stars here :)

  • Nice find! Truck looks awesome! Auto recycling always seem to be successful these days, especially when it's single stream collection.

  • love the lights in the back!

  • Was that a black Zarn at 1:38???
