Definitely influenced by Fallout, and looking much better than the POS Fallout 3.

AoD is post apoc. It's just Roman inspired post apoc. The "decide your own morality" stuff is firmly in place.

I'm not sure where the comments about the combat being slow are coming from. This is about the same speed as Dragon Age. Sure, the graphics aren't awesome, but who really cares? The past 5 years have given us a ton of totally disposable titles with weak repetitive gameplay that looked gorgeous. Personally, I'm tired of it.
This is pre-alpha footage, so even if you don't agree I would withhold judgment for now.

Looks great, but the combat looks like it moves a little slowly. I hope the animations are a bit speedier as the game's development progresses.
