In a Nut Shell... Rome created the world we live i today.

great video, but a bit superficial. You avoided to mention the army (similar in structure of modern armies) the vigiles (ancient police and fire fighters) the gladiators ect. And finally Rome didnt fell cuz of a barbarian invasion but because of a political conspiracy. Anyway GREAT video. Good job man!

Egyptians did not have fluted columns, nor Corinthian capitols, a Roman favorite--Corinth is a Greek city. Egypt gets plenty of credit in other aspects. Etruscans? Obviously a great influence--the origin of gladiatorial games...though theirs were part of their elaborate funerals, and not the spectacle presented at the height of Rome's empire. Much more could be said of both Etruria and Egypt--but I was quoting Horace....@311nonono

Those are very,very, *BIG* exaggerations.
The Greek classical temple form is of Egyptian origins.
Roman temple ideas came directly from the Etruscans not the Greeks.
Romans were admirers Greek art and culture. Period. Stop, That’s it, No more, No Mas.
Recent genetic data from Tuscany matches up with the region of Troy,
So did the greeks get their building ideas second hand from the Trojans or first hand from the Egyptians?
Can’t the Etruscans and Egyptians get any credit?

Ah..but, “Captive Greece held captive her uncouth conqueror and brought the arts to the rustic Latin lands,” (Horace) Rome was nothing if not a great "copycat"! The great imitator, Virgil and his Aeneid owe all to legendary Homer, and the architecture of Rome is half Greek at least...Rome had great facility at adopting and adapting...absorbing at will the cultures of those they conquered. A strength...a survival tactic. But they were as much creatures of Greece as we are of them...

@kigmaster
It's from the 2004 movie "Alexander" and it is called 'Titans' (composed by Vangelis). The piece can be found on the "Alexander" soundtrack.

nice job!i think though that one of the last pictures depicting a man on a horse in a battlefield is actually alexander the great who was not roman at all...he was macedonian

I realize this, and I included the mosaic for a reason. You are correct, it is Alexander and he is a Macedonian, but the mosaic is Roman. I added it for two reasons: 1.) it is an example of art that the Romans bequeathed us, and 2.) I'm obsessed with Alexander.
