I don't fully grasp the question but if the air rises up from the bottom of the tank it will do more good (and look better) than if it is being spat from a filter outlet. Ideally you would use both the U4 and an air pump.

hiya pond guru my fish tank is 4 ft long and i think between 2 to 3 ft high but iv got a u4 filter and a air pump wich is bettre the u4 filter air or the air pump air because i never use anythank please reply

Hey I have a question I have that same pump for a 28 gallon tank do I leave it on all day or shut it off at night what's the deal with the time because I have just been leaving it on all day and seems to work good

It is always best to keep it running 24/7 as turning it on and off will affect oxygen levels. Keeping it running will keep levels high and prevent crashing.

Should i get a airstone for my 20 gallon? It has a Tetra 10-30i which i think i will exchange for a Aqua-Tech 20-40. With either of those filters in a 20g guppy tank would a air curtain be nessesery?

Air is always a welcome bonus in a fish tank but with regard to the two tetra filters, I'm not familiar with them as we don't sell them.
