Grethe & Benny (full names Grethe Kausland & Benny Borg) performing "Småting" ("Small Things"), the Norwegian entry at the 1972 Eurovision Song Contest.

A cute, but not all that great, song that was understandably lost amid the strong competition, despite Grethe and Benny really giving it the best they could. Grethe, who passed away only last November, was a former child star who continued to sing and act for many years - one of her most impressive credits being her starring role in the 1993 theatre play "A Star Is Torn", where she portrayed not one, not two, but nine different showbiz legends with a tragic fate (among them, Edith Piaf, Marilyn Monroe and Janis Joplin).

  • Grethe became a drug-addled prostitute after the hits dried up. So very sad.

  • Beautfiul!

  • Great song and much more catchy than any of the songs in top 10 except Portugal. So I obviously don't share opinion with tasosk3 here. For me a top 3 placer.

  • Very beautiful! :)

  • You've really got an impressive collection of Eurvision songs.

I was a big fan of Grethe when I was a little girl. So sad she passed away last year

  • Nice to hear this again.......a very nice song, I thought. Thanks for sharing.
