Hell is not as we think it is. IT IS A METAPHOR of an experience of pain and torment caused by your own choices. Thats is my opinion, if I was a Christian..... WHICH I AM NOT! PRAISE DAWKINS :-)

Once a person comes to Christ, the bible says he is a new creature, he is sealed by the Holy Spirit unto the day of redemption and that "no man can take you from his hands" and that He would never leave you nor forsake you. You never lose this salvation.

There is such a thing as a counterfeit salvation. But if you sincerely mean buisness then He does. You cannot just have a head knowledge of God but a heart knowledge. Jesus said over and over that He was the only way to Heaven!

  • I believe in Jesus. Just not Christianity. Its all too bogged down with insane technicallities like stoning homos and killing babies

  • every knee will bow! either you will willingly do it here or you will fall to your knees in fear there. There is nothing you will need to ask Him in that day of judgment, all truth will be revealed. There are more than one judgment seats. The ones who did not believe will be called up from Hell to stand at the Great White throne,(at the end of the millenial reign of Christ) and be judged for every single sin. These will be cast into the lake of fire forever.

  • What about someone like me? I have confessed and believed for about 20 years. Now after I really looked into it I can see its all bullshit? What happens to me?

  • Well it doesnt look like you will get to ask Him anything.

  • I thought it was a commonly held Xtian belief that EVERY TONGUE WILL CONFESS AND BOW. Or is this the wrong Bible?

  • I think it is a metaphor too. It is basically trying to convey the message of hell as "the worst that can happen to you" and heaven as "the best thing that can happen to you". The writers thought streets of gold and walls of precious jewels would convey the best, and burning the worst. That should reaslly scare you more than actual burning.

  • @heavenboundsaint Why would I want to worship a deity that I was afraid of? That's like wanting to honestly love an abusive, psychotic parent.

  • @GodsArePeopleToo Eh, jesus says a lot of contradictory things. The fact is the jewish people don't even have a concept of heaven, so how would jesus talking about it to them mean anything?

  • i have to agree with the take on hell in the description. hell and heaven have the same address. they are states of mind. jesus accused the pharisees of keeping people from entering heaven and said they refused to enter it themselves. he says they shut the kingdom of heaven up on their faces. now how is this done if it's an afterlife thing? simply by messing with peoples minds and not letting them live peaceful lives

  • @heavenboundsaint "The bible says that "the soul that sins shall die" "

They also say that your soul will burn in hell, that's eternal life there bud. Not a good life, but neither would heaven be, so no difference in the very long run.

  • @heavenboundsaint Lol, the devil believes in god? If the devil were real, which he's not, than he wouldn't believe in a god, he'd know a god existed. Big difference there.

"You must put your trust in Him" You want to put your trust in a being that's depicted as killing innocent children, pregnant women, men, livestock etc? How can you trust a being like that?

  • @HoocH65 Which is immoral. You don't like me, so suffer. That's horribly immature.

  • dude needs some mucinex

  • Hell is for those that do not except Christ and continue in their sin.

  • According to Matthew 5:18-19, John 7:19 & Luke 16:17 the Old Testament laws still apply. Also your Jesus zombie condones slavery (Colossians 3: 22; Titus 2: 9-10; 1 Timothy 6: 1-2; Ephesians 6: 5; Matthew 10: 24-25; & many many more).

Incidentally, the Flood myth is a direct plagiarism/theft of the Sumerian Gilgamesh story which pre-dates the Jewish religion by some thousands of years. Judaism stole a lot from Mesopotamian myth (cherubim, origin of Moses, numerous gods like Beelzebub & Baal).

  • "I believe in Jesus. Just not Christianity. Its all too bogged down with insane technicallities like stoning homos and killing babies"

first..Who do you think Jesus is?

second..understand the OT was before the birth of Christ whom God would send to save the world. God flooded the earth before man could destroy all hope. Noah was all that was left. Satan is the enemy of God and his goal was to stop the Messiah from coming. God didnt allow anyone to get in the way if so we would all go to hell
