@DjBeatboxRemix, depending on what color it is, say if the previous color is bright lime green, and you what to re-spray it white, it will end up showing through.. And also you do need to scratch up the surface with, wet and dry/ normal sand paper. It gives some thing for the paint to stick to.. And don't forget to put your gloss clear coat on if your wondering how to get a fresh out of factory look..

I sand blast all paint off the prime with PPG DP50LF epoxy primer. Base coat, then clear.
That simple. If graphics are needed, I apply them after the first round of clear, then reclear graphics after and buff to a smooth finish.
