  • Doesn't the first philosopher you quoted in his way of saying and feeling different things go against the beliefs of Miqel Ruiz in integrity

  • I believe when Epictetus says not to groan inwardly too, he mans that we shouldn't deny others their grief by refusing to commiserate, but that we should also be careful not confuse their pain for our own pain. I think Ruiz would agree on this establishment of emotional boundaries. I can see how it could also be read as "make yourself cry, even if you don't have any feelings for the matter." The first interpretation jives more with his other writings, IMHO.
