This is my first cel-animation ever to be made by myself! I drew my character in this short cartoon is in a simple Anime or Manga style (a Japanese animation and comic character's style)
Before I study professional animation course in which I learn pose-to-pose and inbetween animating method, I used an animation method called 'straight-ahead', meaning every drawing is rendered in the order in which it will be shot.

Version 2 - I used Macromedia Flash 8 software to make this animation and the background music is "Digimon 02" opening title!

Please feel free to comment!

I've upload my character design in this animation on deviantART, please have a look on the following link: http://yanamationpictures.deviantart.com/art/Me-in-Manga-or-Anime-style-11466...
And the first background in this animation could also be found on deviantART which was pencil drawn before being colourised! Please see this following link: http://yanamationpictures.deviantart.com/art/A-rural-British-countryside-1328...

Hope u enjoy! ^_^

  • Use a tripod. It's all shaky. Other than that it's not bad. Make sure you properly clean the cels and overlap them EXACT. Other wise you get weird blotches.

  • @mudkiprules4 It's was an experiment at that time. But now I use Flash animation.

  • @Yanamation oh, ok. Thanks!

  • @randomstuff6791 If you buy transparent plastic sheets, the brand would be STAPLES - transparency film. For the acrylic paints, it would be Americana or Anita's.

  • @Yanamation sorry, can you be more specific please? Something like Michaels, or any brand???

  • What do you use to color the cells? What type of paints etc.

  • @randomstuff6791 You can get them in the stationary shop, they're normal A4 size plastic sheets for projectors.

  • @Yanamation where can you get the plastic sheets?

  • YAY DIGIMON MUSIC

  • @SaikuyaHikari I first drew a sequence of movement on the A4 model sheet. After that, I put each plastic transparent sheet on each model sheet to trace the drawn line on the plastic sheet using ink pen. Then paint the plastic sheet, but u should paint each of them behind the plastic sheet, so that it won't covered the black ink. Place the painted plastic sheet on the background and take a foto, then do the same with the other.
