This is an unusual mix between a theater trailer and music video. I tried to capture the storyline of Jane Eyre while still using a broad variety of clips to keep it interesting. The 2006 BBC version of Jane Eyre is the best one I have ever found. Toby Stephens and Ruth Wilson are phenomenal actors that exhibited the passion of this story. Both Ruth and Toby seem to be able to play Edward and Jane without even speaking. I mean, this could have been a silent film and still worked. If you'll notice I used mostly clips that didn't have dialog just to show what feelings they communicated through looks and glances. I used these quotes from the book as my 'inspiration,' if you will.

"I used to look at my master's face to see if it were sad or fierce; but I could not remember the time when it had been so uniformly clear of clouds or evil feelings."

"...remember his words; remember his looks, remember his voice!'"

"He, holding my hand, and looking down on my face, surveyed me with eyes that revealed a heart full and eager to overflow; in whose emotions I had a part."

Comments are always welcome. I can take constructive criticism--as long as it's constructive and not just criticism. :)

I put quite a lot of time into making this, so thanks for taking up your own time to watch it. I really hope you enjoy it--even if only a little bit!

*All the clips I acquired from an assortment of places but they are all property of the BBC and no infringement is intended*

  • what song is this?????

  • It's called "Serenata" by Immediate Music

  • nice!

what program did you use to blend to different frames like you did at 1.34?

  • I use Ulead Video Studio for all of my videos.

  • Your work here is so detailed- had I not seen this production several times I might not have noticed some of the manipulations of image that really connected with the music. You're right about it working as a silent movie. I love the way you used the rhythm and other elements of the music juxtaposed with color and visual effects. I'm really impressed with your audio-visual coordination. Well done!

  • Thank you! I'm glad that somebody picked up on all the little things I put in here. While I'm making videos I try to put things together in detail and I'm usually afraid that I'm being a perfectionist, but I am so glad that you noticed! It makes the work all worth it! I hope you can enjoy it over and over again. :)
