Rabbit shot cleanly at 305yds and a very close call for a grey crow at 290yds! If you watch the bullet trace, the crow moves his head as the bullet passes a fraction to the left of his head.

Setup:

Remington 700 VSSF II in .223 (1 in 12 twist)
Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 FFP (MRAD)
Harris 9-13" Bipod
TacOps Cheekpack
Federal 55 gr. V-Shok

Safety Note: As the video doesn't show it clearly it should be noted that the tree in which the crow was perched is at the bottom a 300+ yard field which rises well above the height of the tree at a fairly steep angle, providing a very safe backstop to make the shot. I do not advocate shooting birds from trees with a rifle, you should always be aware of your backstop and shoot safe! ;-)

Enjoy!

Hey! cheers for your comment, I'm from Ireland alright! :) I've been wanting to try the accutip rounds but haven't come across a dealer that stocks them. They're supposed to be a good round if a tad expensive. Let me know how you get on ;)

    Regards,

  • @The223Shooter Hey,you must be in the same country as me,great shooting. Bought myself a box of remington 55gr accutip-v. Have you ever tried them?

  • @heresapa

Hi heresapa! There a great rifle, and definitely one of the better factory Remmy's I've seen. I've done nothing to this bar lighten the trigger pull and she's shooting 1/4" groups at 100yds with 55gr. V-Shok when I do my part. It is a hefty rifle though and combined with the Vortex comes in ~13/14lb. That said I do most of my shooting off of a bipod/tripod/etc. and it's not too heavy to be lugging up and down the hills where I shoot. Well worth looking into if you were so inclined ;)
