Tremeloes - I shall be released 1968

Lyrics:
Any day now, any way now
I shall be released.

They say everything can be replaced
Yet every distance is not near
So I remember every face
Of every man who put me here.
I shall be released.

I see my light come shining
from the west down to the east
Any day now, any way now,
I shall be released.

They say every man needs protection
They say that every man must fall
Yet I swear, I see my reflection
Somewhere so high above this wall.

I see my light come shining
from the west down to the east
Any day now, any way now
I shall be released.

Standin' next to me in this lonely crowd
A man who swears he's not to blame
All day long, I hear him shoutin' so loud
Cryin' out that he was framed.

I see my light come shining
from the west down to the east
Any day now, any way now
I shall be released.

Any day now, any way now
I shall be released.

  • THIS IS MY FAVORIT VERSION ABSOLUTELY!!!!!

  • In my opinion, The Tremelos had the best recording of this great song.

  • LIke this if the movie Everything Must Go, brought you here.

  • listen to this song at least once a month. 1968 was just about has good has 69. they were all there

  • I HAVE HEARD ONLY ONE ROTTEN VERSION OF THIS SONG AND THAT WAS ME SINGING IT IN THE SHOWER EVERYONE ELSE DOES IT GREAT EACH A LITTLE DIFFERENT BUT GREAT

  • Love the Tremeloes, and for them to pull this song off, and be so young is a feat. They are excellent. Especially the young man at 1:40. Amen!

  • love the song ,great group under ratted ,lovely to hear

  • richard manuels version is great. he sounds like curtis mayfield but after listening to every one from telly savalas to jacob miller im most impressed by aaron nevilles version.

  • aaron nevilles is my favorite

  • @xyPERSON I love sixties music, it's the music I grew up with. I've never heard the Tremeloes version of Dylan's I shall be released before, but compared to the Bands or Dylan's, it falls short for me. No heart or soul in the music and just too poppie and whitebread for my taste...too each his own.
