[Watch in HD] To kick off the month of September, I did some railfanning in near 100-degree weather around Decatur.

CSX's daily interchange train to the ADM Runaround Yard (located at 27th Street) heads north on the CN Peoria District main with a very friendly crew giving some honks.

CN A431 on the final leg of its journey from Memphis rolls north to the CN Decatur Yard with an IC SD70 on the point.

After being held up at Wabic for the CN, NS 145 with a long string of autopart boxcars bound for the Ford plant at Claycomo (northeast of Kansas City) finally leaves town with a good conductor friend giving a wave.

A lone CN SD75I with empty coal cars in tow bound for flood loading at the Freeman Crown #3 Mine in Farmersville, Illinois departs Decatur's CN Grand Avenue Yard.

Thanks! It's one of the best places to see trains at least in the central part of the state (Tuscola is another good one). I've never been to Blue Island, I want to visit there sometime in the future though!
