Tower Hamlets - Kickz Friday night football

Young people in Tower Hamlets http://www.towerhamlets.gov.uk/whats_on/open_weekend_weekend_activiti.aspx have their Friday evenings sorted thanks to weekly football training sessions with professional coaches from West Ham United through the Kickz project. Sessions are organised by the Bangladesh Youth Movement (BYM) though all youngsters are welcome supported by Tower Hamlets Youth and Connexions services. With an 11pm finishing time, sessions help to reduce anti-social behaviour and crime. Kickz is being highlighted as part of a national initiative by the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) to give young people positive things to do on Friday and Saturday nights, under the Aiming High for Young People strategy.
