  • San Francisco has won when it comes to varieties!! It has normal diesel buses, electric trolleybuses, streetcars (including modern LRT trams and vintage cars), street cablecars, subway trains... ...

  • Nice video, sound within troleybus as Škoda 14TrM

  • When those PCC's ran in Philadelphia, that jangling of the track brakes was pretty much a given since the early 1970's. I miss that....

  • Seattle used to have those but they took them out to save money. >.< Now they are about to take the trolley buses out too. Seattle has bad transportation. I mean, the best transportation is either, driving, walking, biking or bus. Light rail sucks. I am moving to San Francisco soon so I will be glad to have good transit.

  • You know the PCC streetcars in San Francisco look exactly and is the same that use in Toronto TTC system long time ago until 1995.

  • i didnt say SF had pcc cars from NY...i merely stated the first order for them was for NY(which was directed at you saying they came from philly)

  • Well "man", the only Brooklyn car to survive is in the Branford Trolley Museum in Connecticut. San Francisco has PCC cars from Philly; Newark, N. J and their own original MUNI cars. San Francisco has no PCC cars from New York. That racket is not authentic for an all-electric PCC car. I too like authentic sounds, if they belong there. That jingling racket would infact be authentic for a pre-war, air-electric PCC car. But in that case, it was the clasp brake shoes on the wheels.

  • whatever man, no need to get pushy...maybe not the jiggling necessarily but just in general i like the sound...reminds me of the old days(thats what i mean by feel authentic) and iono if by philly you mean east coast cuz the first order of them was for New York

  • It's not authentic at all. That jingling didn't occur until the track brakes wore out. When new and for decades, those cars didn't make that jingling sound. I should know......I rode them for years in Philadelphia....where they came from.

They simply need to replace the rubber fillers in the track brakes.

  • i like the sound of them...has an authentic feel to it...just my opinion

  • All of that jingling and jangling on MUNI's PCC cars is uncalled for. All they have to do is replace the rubber filler inserts in the track brakes. I don't know if it's a case of them not knowing that or not caring about it.

  • Wonderful job.
