In this video press release, Assembly members Linda R. Greenstein and Wayne P. DeAngelo (both D-Mercer/Middlesex) discuss their tour of the construction site of the new University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro, which is being built according to the U.S. Green Building Council guidelines for the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standard. LEED standards emphasize long-term sustainability and minimal environmental impact.
The hospital site - part of the Princeton HealthCare System - employs nearly 500 construction workers and will create hundreds of new green jobs when it opens in 2011.
