Do hopitals only tube-feed those who are severely underweight and malnourished?How does the hospital decide if one needs to be tube-fed?

@ballerinana11 some hospitals are like that, but not all. it really depends on a lot of factors: lab work, how quickly they lost the weight, pre-exisiting conditions, mental state etc..

stop making it look like tube feeding is such an "easy fix" these photos almost glamourize it....real tube feeding is much more hellish than posing for pictures...who even has enough energy to do that while tube feeding?! i sure as hell didn't.

@frmrjezebel making it look like an "easy fix" is purely a matter of opinion. there is no easy fix to an eating disorder, but the most common tactic is to put weight on so that they can then work on the cognitve. everyone knows that because recovery doesn't work in reverse. and dont' ask me why half of them are smiling and posing. maybe they are just trying to make light of a tough situation...
