ガラスのうさぎ

太平洋戦争末期の東京。下町に暮らす少女、敏子は敗色濃厚で物資も乏しい厳しい環境の中、家族とともに一生懸命生きていた。
しかし昭和20年3月10日、東京の上空に無数のB29が飛来、密集した木造家屋を焼き払うことで一般市民の大量無差別殺戮を目的とした大規模な焼夷弾爆撃が実行に移され­た。
この爆撃で敏子たちの住む下町一帯は火の海となり、敏子の母と2人のかわいい妹もその犠牲となった。
敏子は焼け跡から、炎で溶けて変形したガラスのうさぎを掘り出し、改めて戦争の恐ろしさを実感する。
その後敏子は、父と2人で疎開先へと向かうのだが。
