PRESENTED BY PAULINE FREEMAN
In 2004, Evil Harrisons were born when Rónán Murphy (Vocals) was introduced to Nicolás Puyané (Bass) and Paul Carolan (Drums) by mutual friend and co-conspirator Barry Dwyer (Guitar). The inclusion of Murphy resulted in an instant spur of songwriting which resulted in the groups debut EP "X as in Fox". A small, limited release in late 2004 "X as in Fox" helped pave the way for their second 4 track EP "Seafood and Crab". Recorded for 50 in two days and named after a sandwich paste they daren't try, "Seafood and Crab" was the groups first freely available EP. Available at gigs, the EP prooved to be a success with audiences and Evil Harrisons followed this up with the release of their debut single in 2005.
Featuring live favorites Youre my ears and my big toes and Oh Bonnie this single was released in late April 06. Produced by Marc Carolan (Thrills/Muse/JJ72) the tracks showcased the groups willingness to experiment with genres while remaining true to their individual style. An extensive tour of Ireland taking in 20 dates from Belfast to Cork between Mar-April in 2006 followed.
In September '06 Evil Harrisons were studio-bound once again to record a new 6-track EP in Grouse Lodge Studios Co. Westmeath and Suite Studios Co. Dublin. Produced and recorded by Evil Harrisons and Ciaran Bradshaw this EP was completed on October 30th 2006 with a release date due in March available in Irish records shops and to download, with an accompanying Irish tour in March/April 2007.
